“Graphic testimony began Tuesday in the murder trial of Michael Montel Williams that tells a story of a love-triangle, death and necrophilia. Williams is charged with first degree murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with Sherry Lynn Smith’s death in the summer of 2006. Williams claims he and Smith made a suicide pact because they wanted to be together forever but they could not because other people would get in the way. William’s attorney, Jonathan Turner, told a Hamilton County jury ‘now in all fairness this truly is a bazaar case…’ Smith’s 4′11′ 95-pound body was found in room 128 of the Hampton Inn hotel on Shallowford Road. Williams was found lying on a floor next to her, halfway under a bed and mumbling. In a 12-minute tape recording Williams made during the event he claims Smith was worried it would appear he abducted her and killed her. Williams goes on to say that after she took a number of pills in order to kill herself she asked him to suffocate her. Williams also admits he engaged in anal sex with Smith after she died, claiming she wanted him to do it. Williams is heard saying he suffocated her because she did not want to be shot. But prosecutors say Williams faked his own attempt at suicide and made the tape to cover up the murder. District Attorney General Bill Cox said no where in the recordings is Smith heard saying she wanted to kill herself. Cox also points out that Smith is not heard saying anything.” — News Channel9 (TN)

With Valentine’s Day coming along this weekend, it can be inspiring to contemplate how other people engage in romance. For example, somewhere in a hotel down south, a loving couple made a suicide pact. The woman, probably wearing pink lingerie from Victoria’s Secret and chewing heart-shaped chocolates, declared that she wanted her beau to live at least a little longer than her, so she could experience the sweet pleasure of submitting to anal intercourse in the moments after being suffocated by the man she adores. Then he would join her in eternity by swallowing pills… Or at least that’s the story that Mr. Williams is asking the jury in his trial to believe.

If you understand anything about sexual perversion, you know that an act that seems improbable to you is often highly desirable to someone else. Remember the notorious German cannibal, for example? It sounds like a bad, desperate excuse for a murder committed by a guy who was, according to his own admission, “messed up on pills.”
