‘World’s Greatest Dad’ Pleads Guilty to Child Sex Abuse
“A Michigan man has pleaded guilty to sex abuse after being accused of wearing a ‘World’s Greatest Dad’ shirt to meet for sex with someone he thought was a 14-year-old-girl. Thirty-three-year-old Daniel Allen Everett pleaded guilty Thursday in Oakland County Circuit Court to child sexual abuse and using the Internet to attempt child sexual abuse. Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 21. Messages seeking comment were left for defense attorney Deborah McKelvy. Authorities have not confirmed whether Everett has children.” — Fox News (US)

There comes a moment in every child molester’s life when he has critical decisions to make. For example, he has to make an important fashion choice when meeting a victim for the first time. How should he present himself? Should he opt for a cool but enigmatic all-black look, like a beatnik? Should he emphasize his wealth and power by donning expensive designer clothes? Should he make himself appear warm and cuddly? Evidently that was Mr. Everett’s approach, which you can see in the picture showing him in his World’s Greatest Dad shirt. Probably he hoped it would put his 14-year-old interlocutor at ease. He must have imagined her saying to herself, “Wow, other kids love this guy. Maybe I’ll let him pop my cherry.”
Instead of warming up his victim, however, the “World’s Greatest Dad” shirt only ended up blaring its irony to one and all. The shirt proclaimed his parenting skills but everyone knew what was really on his mind — something more akin to the shirt from T-Shirt Hell that says “All Daddy Wanted Was a Blowjob.” Do you think it would have been better — in terms of fashion, morality, or seductiveness — if a pedophile would throw caution to the wind and wear a forthright statement of his intent? He could go to the mall and get a custom shirt made up with a slogan such as World’s Greatest Child Molester, or Best Pedo in the World, or I ♥ Kiddy Sex, or I’ll Do It To You Gently….
