All of which is detailed in a sadly compelling new HBO documentary, Heidi Fleiss: The Would-Be Madam of Crystal (Crystal being the name of the proposed brothel location, as well as a snide reference to crystal meth, to which Fleiss appears hopelessly addicted). As Fleiss mentally and physically disintegrates throughout the film, you get the feeling The Stud Farm might have been one of the greatest PR con-jobs of all time. But for all the suggestions that Fleiss was planning to open the place up to gays, thus guaranteeing profitability, I like to think she was genuinely interested in the brothel as a social experiment. Pahrump, where Ms. Fleiss plans to open her brothel, is only an hour or so from Las Vegas. It is the nearest place to Vegas where prostitution is legal, which is why other brothels such as the famous Chicken Ranch are located in the vicinity. In that regard, Ms. Fleiss’ plans are not so quixotic.
Then again, nobody is surprised when a man — particularly a half-inebriated conventioneer with slot winnings in his pockets — drives an hour to pay $400 for a blowjob. Would women venture that far for a romp (a “pah-romp,” perhaps)? It’s not without precedent. A few years ago, Japanese women in sexless marriages were apparently turning to male “sex volunteers.” In Tokyo there are hosuto or hosts who solicit female clients. Evidently male prostitution targeting female clients has been on the rise in India. And “inverted sex tourism” describes older women who journey to Kenya to enjoy the pleasures of younger men. If a woman would go to Kenya for sex, surely she’d go to Pahrump.

still brothels that caters to gays is very common in sydney and they cater to the old ugly rich woman who can’t get it any other way too, so perhaps there might be some money in it for fleiss but i’m not going to hold my breath.

I don`t think it will workout for Heidi, last month i think it was HBO did a documentary on her current endeaver, all the other brothel owners are petitioning the *brothel regulators* against her getting a license to open. Some seemed to think it will eventually turn into a gay brothel.
As far as women paying I don`t think enough will to make it work. As a younger man in my early 20`s me and a friend were at a bar, having no luck with the ladies. In walks in a 250lbs ugly bitch. I looked at my friend and said “this sucks, I bet that fat chick has an easier time getting laid then we do”. Sure enough within 10 minutes some dude is buying her drinks trying to get at it. Some guys will “do” any chick, so I can`t see them paying for sex.

Well, I voted no but a good point was brought up: it depends on who is working there. While the situation would be EXTREMELY unlikely, if they could get someone I (or others) have heard of then it may work. In this unlikely hypothetical situation it would likely be either rock or porn stars. While I wouldn’t be into that, I would happily shell out a pretty penny if a brothel somehow wrangled up Cillian Murphy to prostitute himself out…
I voted yes because at one point I *did* want to hire a sexy gigolo and get serviced. I don’t drink or go to bars, and I find poor spelling an anaphrodisiac, which cuts down on both pub nights and online hookups.
