I think such a case would call into question the somewhat murky reasons of why child pornography is illegal in the first place: It seems to be illegal both because it victimizes children (which obviously needs to be punished) and because it encourages those who view it to go out and victimize children. The latter point, however, is arguable (as far as I know - any studies done on this or a similar subject?) and I would be interested in the result of a court case about it.
