That was some fasinating read, ‘Vert! It’s got my mind working over time. Especially as I’ve sinced raised the whole issue of the film(s) elsewhere and watched the ~ written ~ responses of those around me.

I’ve now actually watched ‘Finger’ (Twice! Lol! See that and ye just have to check!) ‘Cup’ won’t work for me, despite getting Flash direct from Adobe. No matter. I got the general idea.

And there I wanted the :sick: Smiley. I had that, more than any other reaction to my own exposure of others to that film. Yet I ended up Crying with laughter as I later discussed it!

As you so astutely recognise; ” the wild laughter that explodes in the interval. ” But *Why* do we laugh so much at that which ‘Disgusts’ us to the core?

I’ll be trying to tease some sort of straw poll answer from my own circle of forum members.

Mheanwhile; I’m basicly british. We crack jokes – and laugh – about some of the most depressive and disturbing things. Usually within hours of learning of an event which doesn’t directly threaten us. We’re probably known for it? I don’t know.

But who hasn’t been in a damn scarey, ‘close call’ situation …. then laughed like a drain once we’ve escaped it?

Bringing strands of that above mentioned read together with ye own ruminations; Just why Is it we laugh so much at that which we feel would surely destroy us?
