Principal Asked Students To Write About Fellatio
A Montreal-area school board is defending one of its principals who asked four elementary school students to each write a 10-line essay about fellatio as punishment for taunting a fellow student about the same topic… the students had been bullying the boy since the beginning of the school year and the most recent incident involved taunts about performing fellatio. [The principal] had made numerous attempts to educate the Grade 4 students on harassment and had even met with their parents earlier in the year. ‘The school’s administration judged the situation to be important and serious enough to try different approaches to fix the problem,’ Marceau said Thursday. Those solutions included a visit by police officers to talk about intimidation and harassment. Professionals came to talk about the impact of bullying. Parents were sent a letter on a monthly basis urging them to talk to their kids. Finally, a note was sent home with the four students about the sex essay following the most recent incident at school asking the students to reflect on what they’d said. ‘That’s why the principal, using the words the kids they’d use, asked them to reflect on what they’d said,’ Marceau said… A newspaper reported Thursday that the parents of one of the boys wasn’t happy with his nine-year-old stepson having to do the assignment. Marceau said that boy was offered the option to write about appropriate language in school instead. Marceau says the three other boys wrote their essays and had them signed by their parents. — Canadian Press (Canada)
If you happen to be on the wrong end of the playground power structure, elementary school can be a prolonged nightmare. Perhaps it even helps to breed the occasional serial killer or psychopath. PervScan can recall one such kid who went on to become a child molestor. It’s impossible to say that his school experiences are what made him into a creep, but they sure didn’t help.
To be a teacher or principal who has to cope with these things is not enviable. Eventually kids become immune to yelling, timeouts, detention, notes to parents. Then what do you do? Educators nowadays aren’t allowed to spank or to hit. They have to be creative, and that’s how they invent punishments like this essay on fellatio. “Ok, kids, you want to talk about blowjobs? Fine, let’s talk about blowjobs. The bullies in the class will no longer be writing about what they plan to do with their summer vacations. Bullies will write about blowjobs. There, you happy?”
You can totally understand how the principal came up with this assignment. Given that he had already tried a variety of ways to resolve the problem, the idea was perfectly reasonable. It’s not as though he just sprung it on the students one day. The unreasonable part, if there is one, is simply that the essay can’t have helped the situation. Fourth graders don’t sit there in front of a sheet of paper, chewing the eraser on the end of their pencil, and undergo a moral revelation: “Why, yes, teacher is right! It’s wrong to tease Billy about sucking me off!”
The bullies will probably go on being bullies until the victim stands up for himself, gives them a punch in the face. That’s the law of the jungle — and the jungle gym too.
It seems to me that the principal missed the whole point…It’s not about blowjobs or sexual harassment…but your baxic school bullies making somebody’s life miserable because they are miserable.
Perhaps they should take a look at the homelife and living conditions of these bullies to figgure out why they feel like they have to pick on some poor sap to make themselves feel better.
a bully bullies because they can and it makes them feel good to torture someone else just cause they might look different, sound different, act different. they don’t care how the other person feels and they know exactly what their doing is wrong it has nothing to do with home life they just enjoy doing it. these pc people who want to give this type of scum warnings and essays and talks with parents are not going to see any change these bullies need to be taken out bush for 3 months on a boot camp experience and taken down a peg or two taught some respect for others and shown how to feel some empathy then maybe there might be some hope for change treating bullies with kid gloves only shows them they can continue to vicimise others without reprocussions think of the kind of ruthless unfeeling manipulative arseholes they grow up to become.why not do the work spend the money needed and nip this problem in the bud now sending kids bush is not all a negative experience they also learn that if they don’t work together,co operate, work out disagreements or bully others on the trail then they don’t eat that night, their peers won’t help them put up their tent, they learn to deal with their mental illness and the comando councilers give them long talks.
Today’s bullies are tomorrow’s CEOs.
