“An RAF man is on trial accused of sex with a 14-year-old — after a palm reader alerted the girl’s mum. The fortune teller said: ‘Your daughter has gone further than she should have done.’ A court heard yesterday that the worried mum then quizzed the girl, who said she had had sex with Tim Beresford, 25. She told a pal he had taken her virginity, it was alleged. In a text message, the girl wrote: ‘I’ve just lost it to Tim.’ The message was followed by lots of smiley faces, Gloucester Crown Court was told. The jury heard that the girl, from Malvern, Worcs, had a crush on Beresford, who was based at RAF Brize Norton, Oxon. Prosecutor Mark Worsley said Beresford, who is part of the ground crew, seduced her on two occasions at a house in Gloucester. When you first read the headline “Palmist Reveals Sex Secret,” it’s hard not to think it’s some sort of masturbation joke. In most cases, the proximity of palm and sex only means one thing: wanker. In this case, though, it obviously points to something else. The palm reader “revealed” the young girl’s sex secret to her mother.
Hallelujah! Is this proof of paranormal powers? Hardly. It’s a pretty blatant instance of the fortune teller offering a general comment — practically a truism — and the lady biting on it and making something of it. Hell, you could tell any mother with a 14-year-old daughter that the girl had “gone further than she should have” and it would be true. That’s not fortune-telling, wizardry, or paranormal power. That’s just common sense.
This stuff happens. One of my caller’s wife (you may recall I do that phonesex gig)occasionally sees a clairvoyant. He sent me diamond earrings and a few weeks later she asked if he’d bought earrings for anybody. She also asked him at a later time if he knew someone in my city. Both instances, her psychic had told her these things. VERY WEIRD!
One wonders what the Amazing Randy might say, if he were to comment.
Hey! Everyone hold on a minute! This man has only been charged. He has not been convicted in a court, the article said an investigation is continuing into this matter.
It also sounds like (from the article), that this young girl is a slut anyway. I mean her mother suspected that she was fucking some other boyfriend?
And, after supposedly screwing the accused man she blabbers it out on the phone? On her first time?
What kind of person is that?
And her mother? She sounds disfunctional too: Anybody that goes to a fortune teller, mystic, or crystal ball gazer for advice is out there in la la land.
Fair comment about the palm reader just obliquely ’stating the obvious’.
Another couple of things probably also said were that this women knew two men; One dark and one fair. (God. Really? Wow)
And my own favourite; She’d know a man with a back complaint! (Oh Pul Eeeeas!)
