“A teenager has had breast reduction surgery after claiming that other girls taunted her about her 36K chest. Stephanie [Last Name Deleted], 16, said the bullying was so intolerable that her parents agreed to her having an operation on the National Health Service. Last month her breasts were reduced by 11 cup sizes to a more comfortable 36D. Yesterday the teenager, who is still recovering at home in Veryan, Cornwall, said the bullying began when she went to secondary school. ‘As soon as my breasts appeared they started to ruin my life,’ she said. ‘I would hide them in baggy clothes and was constantly aware of people staring at me. By the time I reached secondary school I was a 36D. I felt so abnormal. Girls would call me horrible names and say I was a slapper. Sometimes you’re browsing pornography and you see a set of tits that you think can’t possibly be real. “Those must be Photoshopped,” you think, imagining somebody with too much time on his hands applying fish-eye-lens filters to normal-sized hooters. Is there some out-of-control hormone pumping the fat up to her breasts? Certainly researchers would want to study this girl or others with a similar problem. The market for breast implants is huge. Imagine if some biotech firm could isolate whatever bodily chemical it is that causes this gigantism of the chest. The profits, like the breasts, could be huge.
