Man Was Sold for Sex by Prison Gang

“A gay burglary convict was called ‘Coco’ by almost everyone at the Allred Unit and was forced to perform sex acts with inmates who used commissary items worth $3 to $7 to pay the gang that owned him, a prisoner testified Wednesday. The inmate said Roderick Keith Johnson was the ‘property’ of the Black Gangster Disciples and was sexually assaulted every day by various gangs who ruled the prison. ‘That was the job; that’s what he had to do,’ the inmate testified during the federal civil trial stemming from Johnson’s lawsuit, which seeks unspecified damages against seven Texas Department of Criminal Justice officials. Johnson’s attorneys say prison officials failed to investigate his reports of rapes and didn’t follow department policy when they refused to move him to a safer area or transfer him, despite his repeated pleas for help.” —Houston Chronicle (US)

You know those “scared straight” programs where harsh cons tell young punks what life on the inside is like? They should definitely feature this story. If some guy thinks he’s tough and that he’s not going to be intimidated by the “big house,” then maybe he’ll think again when he considers the prospect of having to sell his ass for five dollars worth of commissary cigarettes — five dollars which he probably has to turn over to the gang that owns him. If this doesn’t qualify as “cruel and unusual” punishment, it’s hard to imagine what would.

No doubt this also highlights the precarious situation of openly gay prisoners. Probably they are forced to be “butt boys” more frequently than heterosexual prisoners. If this is true, however, it’s hard to see what to do about it. It’s not like you can create separate prisons for gays and straights — after all, within six months of entering a correctional facility, there’s apparently not much difference left between gays and straights anyway. Those big macho murderers taking advantage of the butt boy’s services certainly didn’t stop and say to themselves, “Ooh, I’ve changed. I’m queer for his gear, I got a pole for his hole, I’m — cuckoo for Coco’s butt!”

This analysis is idiotic and barbaric. There are reported to be over a million male prison rapes a year in the U.S. Most prisoners are there for non-violent offenses (e.g., drugs). What kind of creep would suggest that this is a good lesson or earned in any possible way? Hard to imagine that Americans think of themselves are morally superior to other nationalities. Only a depraved nation would tolerate this.

Well put, Jason Smith! The American prison system is hideously barbaric, and anyone who defends it is either a fool or a sadist.

What a load of bull! The solution is ridiculously simple:

–Never more than one inmate per cell (possibly barring explicit requests).
–Complete 24/7 camera surveillance of the entire prison complex, live outside feed to selected civil rights orgs. This is mainly meant to prevent abuse by guards, which is another major problem.
–Maximal automation, minimal human involvement. Every cell is a stand-alone unit with a toilet, shower, and a small enclosed outside space. Food, fresh clothing, and other items are both delivered and collected via a mechanized system.
–As a general rule, there isn’t any physical contact, *ever*, among inmates, and only the barest (and strictly monitored) minimum between inmates and guards. If people wish to communicate, the can do so via monitors that are integrated into each cell.
–Separate facilities for violent and nonviolent offenders (just in case).

Oh, and before people start whining about automation being ‘too expensive’: if the US can spend *billions* on (BS) wars and (inefficient) disaster relief, then surely it can also spend a couple of hundred million on upgrading its (medieval) prison system. After all, it’s a disaster –a *perfectly preventable* disaster– in its own right.

Here’s a tip: if you drop the insane war on drugs, you’ll not only free up huge amounts of (otherwise wasted) funding, but you’ll also drastically reduce the prison population. Indeed, you could probably pretty much close most women’s facilities.

On a related note, the rest of the legal system should be automated as well. No more degrading media trials, no more whimsical and gullible juries, arrogant, ivory tower judges, parasitic lawyers, corrupt cops etc. etc. Systematic rhythm in control. Ubiquitous video & audio surveillance; automatic sentences; convictions based solely on surveillance data, advanced lie detection, and hard forensic evidence; panels of impartial, randomly selected scientific experts instead of judges, juries & lawyers. Iustitia ex machina!

I agree that there should definitely be separate facilities between violent and non-violent criminals. Don’t put all of the drug users, and tax evaders for example, with all of these murderers, rapists, and robbers! I feel violent criminals can handle violent criminals, and non-violent criminals can handle non violent criminals. The rigerous routine in prison should remain, though, such as when to do this or that. After all, prison is not supposed to be a picnic! These people are being punished for their misdeeds. I just agree to separate criminals according to offense. It also seems like a good idea to have a one person cell. A small cell for each person. That way, one is not likely to get shanked, or ass-raped in the middle of the night or something. I have watched the series “Oz”, and I know prison can be a pritty violent place. I am not quite sure how violent it is compared to “Oz”, but I do know that it is not like in comedies or cartoons where one inmate asks another “So, what are you in for?” Yes, prisons do need reforms.

Woaaaaaaa…
That’s what I call KARMA.
Do bad things in life and you will get the ‘reward’ for them.
But somehow, like one of the commentators, I got turned on by the story.

Karma? He was sentenced to prison, not to be gang raped. Are you saying that everyone sent to prison should be gang raped by niggers as part of their sentence?

Is that american justice?

Anyway, I wanted to say that I spent a year in prison and it’s really not that bad. I watched TV, played pool, worked in the warehouse as a clerk, and played softball on the weekends.

It’s not like in the movies.

This guy was raped and sold because he was a wuss bag faggot.

Unfortunate fact: California Oklahoma Aryan’s and Skin Heads are documented to be the most violent in prison male rape offenders See Male Prison Rape Report Congressional Record 1997. Countries where male prison rape is the worse? Russia, Turkey, Romainia, Bulgaria, (Eastern European Countries in General) and South American Prisons in General the worse is a toss up between Brazil & Columbia.

James must be one of those Aryans or Skinheads the way he through that ‘n’ word out there…

He sounds a bit angry… maybe he was a male rape offender????? Which explains why (in his words) ‘prison wasn’t so bad.’
