Man Charged in Homemade Porno Case
“A Davenport man who is wanted in connection with homemade pornography involving women, dogs and an infant younger than 1 year was being held late Sunday on $65,850 bond, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department. Kerwin L. Summage… was served a warrant Saturday at the Scott County Jail. Charges include: second-degree sexual abuse; sexual exploitation of children; pimping; child endangerment without injury; bestiality… In October 2004, detectives issued warrants for Summage and his longtime girlfriend, Melissa M. Brown, then 29, after officers seized graphic homemade movies involving illegal sex acts. The explicit scenes on the 15 videotapes, some involving an infant younger than 1 year and others involving dogs, shocked veteran detectives, said investigators, who said the tapes were made from January 2001 to July 2004. An investigation began after police heard that Summage had paid a man who is mentally challenged to have sex with a female, then videotaped it, according to Scott County District Court records. The videotapes include Brown walking the streets of Davenport as a prostitute and picking up clients before returning to a car to describe the details of the sex acts and to hand money to Summage; Summage videotaping Brown during acts of prostitution while children are in the back seat of the car at night during the winter; Summage performing sex acts involving a dog; and videotaping Brown while she performs sex acts involving three different dogs.” —Quad-City Times (US)

No doubt Mr. Summage would like to say that his previous claim to fame was his role in a self-produced R&B record that he made with his brother. In retrospect, the title of his first single — “(Roof) Let the Dog Come Out” — is weirdly prophetic, since the man is now charged with bestiality, among other things. Unfortunately, PervScan was unable to locate a recording of this soon-to-be-infamous tune. If anyone else can find it, send an email and we’ll post it for all to hear.
Really, though, Mr. Summage is probably less known for his musical skills than for his sexual criminality, since he has already been embroiled in a child molestation case in Georgia. In spite of some pretty damaging testimony, this particular case has been tied up in appeals for years.
However, these new charges in Iowa — bestiality, sexual abuse, pimping — certainly lend credence to the notion that “where there is smoke there is fire.” The girlfriend, Ms. Brown, has already pleaded guilty to third-degree sex abuse and sexual exploitation of a minor, so it would stand to reason that Mr. Summage will likely be convicted of some combination of charges. To be fair, the ones involving an infant are somewhat unclear. In the Georgia case, Mr. Summage was charged with actually abusing the child. In this case, it’s ambiguous whether the infant was engaged in some sex act or was just sitting in the back of a car while its mother engaged in some sex act. And while the latter may not be excusable, it’s certainly much better than an actual molestation.
At any rate, no doubt Mr. Summage would have been in much better shape had he never “let the dog come out.” Roof, roof.
