“Female interrogators tried to break Muslim detainees at the U.S. prison camp in Guantanamo Bay by sexual touching, wearing a miniskirt and thong underwear and in one case smearing a Saudi man’s face with fake menstrual blood, according to an insider’s written account… One female civilian contractor used a special outfit that included a miniskirt, thong underwear and a bra during late-night interrogations with prisoners, mostly Muslim men who consider it taboo to have close contact with women who aren’t their wives… The interrogator left the room to ask a Muslim linguist how she could break the prisoner’s reliance on God. The linguist told her to tell the detainee that she was menstruating, touch him, then make sure to turn off the water in his cell so he couldn’t wash… ‘The concept was to make the detainee feel that after talking to her he was unclean and was unable to go before his God in prayer and gain strength,’ says the draft, stamped ‘Secret…’ ‘She then started to place her hands in her pants as she walked behind the detainee,’ he says. ‘As she circled around him he could see that she was taking her hand out of her pants. When it became visible the detainee saw what appeared to be red blood on her hand. She said, ‘Who sent you to Arizona?’ He then glared at her with a piercing look of hatred. ‘She then wiped the red ink on his face. He shouted at the top of his lungs, spat at her and lunged forward’ — so fiercely that he broke loose from one ankle shackle. ‘He began to cry like a baby,’ the draft says, noting the interrogator left saying, ‘Have a fun night in your cell without any water to clean yourself.’” —Newsday (US)

Just because you, O writer, are turned on by what you’re writing about is no excuse for turning off your critical faculties.
The point of interrogation tactics is to elicit evidence. The point of the evidence is to help determine whether or not the accused is innocent or guilty. People who are guilty LIE, and therefore interrogation tactics attempt to induce people to tell the truth. This makes the tactics uncomfortable, mentally painful and sometimes physically painful too.
For this reason, there are standards governing interrogation tactics. It goes without saying that these tactics are stressful, the standards do not mandate that the tactics be pain- or stress-free. They simply mandate that the tactics fall within a certain range, a tolerable but not tortuous degree of stress.
In that light, the tactics used at Gitmo are stressful but not torturuous. They apply psychological pressure but they do not cause physical injury. When you compare these tactics to those used in numerous other countries around the world, you’ll see that they’re very mild. And if they help to separate the truth-tellers from the liars — if they separate the innocent from the terrorists — then they are justified.

The prisoners that were mildly humiliated playing naked leapfrog and walk the dog will get to go home A_L_I_V_E one day (if not already)unless they are found guilty. Also these fellas are not Taliban / Al Quaida conscripts. They are dedicated followers of Islamic Fundamentalism. Islam in general condones the killing of Infedels. This variety is much more radical and need to be reigned in from within by the more mainstream clerics and Imams for the good of all Muslims. I have some Muslim friends and I am not a racist or a biggot.I’ve been told this by my Muslim friends. These types of radical Islamic fundamentalism are spawned in the ghettos of large cities in Jordan, Israel, Syria ,Iraq, Iran and other large Middle Eastern cities. These guys become indoctrinated as young unemployed teens and young adults. They are promised the 72,etc, etc and fall for the whole bit. Not drug into it kicking and screaming. These countries need to educate their populace and put together economies
to curb the 25 – 30% unemployment they so enjoy.
