Her name was Dawn — we could never touch her at all, not in the girl spots.’ One of the boys says once he looked underneath the blindfold. ‘I lifted the shirt up a little bit over my eyes and when I stood up I looked down and I saw a man’s ——.’ Each boy claimed to have a different revelation. ‘We all got together and figured out all the facts came down to it not being a girl. It was a guy. It feels like it was a guy. All the observations come down to being a guy, which we think is him, Steve Hill.’ ‘I really feel violated. This is a pretty strange story. In the first place, it’s hard to believe that the victims were as dumb as they were. There is an old truism that they apparently didn’t heed: If it seems too good to be true, then it is too good to be true. Or to put it another way: if a “girl” wants anonymous sex with you, but she blindfolds you, doesn’t let you touch her “girly parts,” and involves a seemingly disinterested male to orchestrate these encounters, then odds are you’re actually having sex with the male. This is especially true if “her” ass is hairy.

In the second place, what could the perp have been thinking? Ok, the obvious answer is that he wasn’t thinking, but still — how crazy do you have to be to think that you can carry off a scam like this? Presumably the perp was having the boys sodomize him, or maybe he was just blowing them. And it’s true that, if you’re blindfolded, one orifice can be pretty indistinguishable from another. Women aren’t the only sex to have a mouth, and an ass isn’t that different from a vagina. But didn’t it occur to the perp that the boys would eventually catch on? That they would peep beneath their blindfolds or accidentally touch his dick? Then again, it took three years for the scam to self-destruct. It probably seemed risky for a month or two, but after that the guy probably thought he had a pretty good thing going. And you have to admit, any boys who will fall for such a scam for three years are either especially dumb or horny — or both.

In the third place, there’s an almost symbolic level of detail operating in this story. It makes it sound like fiction. The perp was a television news reporter. He taped the sexual encounters. He blindfolded the boys but named the fictitious girl “Dawn.” Eventually the boys “saw the light” and then used videotape to trap the perp. Blindness, voyeurism, enlightenment, exposure — what a strangely visual story!
