Thai Man Cuts Off Teens’ Penises
“A Thai house painter cut off the penises of two teenagers with a knife after he found out they had stolen 50,000 baht ($1,250) of his savings from an ATM machine, police said on Saturday. Manit Srithammathan, 40, told police the teenagers, now in hospital, deserved the punishment as they had betrayed his kindness in letting them stay at his Bangkok suburban house, they said… The painter, facing charges of life-threatening assaults and unlawful confinement, said he could not control his rage as the boys, aged 14 and 15, refused to confess to the theft which he discovered after checking a video record kept by the bank. Having your penis cut off for an act of theft is a pretty severe punishment. Certainly it deviates from the “eye for an eye” concept of revenge. That concept normally dictates that a thief have his hand cut off in retaliation for his pilfering. And while losing a hand is no fun, it’s obviously better than losing your penis. You can always jerk off with one hand. But if you have two hands and no penis, you’re plum out of orgasmic luck.
Some might view such a harsh punishment as an exemplary thing: if every thief had his penis cut off, it would certainly put a damper on crime. Others might look at it as an overly harsh and perhaps even pathological thing. After all, you do have to wonder: of all the possibilities for revenge, why choose this one? You could shoot somebody, stab him in the neck, hack off a finger. But what sort of person thinks to cut off a penis? And for that matter, that detail about throwing the penises into a canal sort of sticks in your mind. Does that mean that the guy kept the penises for some length of time? And if so, why? What was he doing with them?
Darwin Award candidates?
Yes, they’re still alive, but “The Darwin Awards commemorate … individuals who contribute to the improvement of our gene pool by removing themselves from it in really stupid ways…” They’d qualify for honorable mention, anyways.
I dunno if robbing some old guy qualifies as “really stupid.” Guess it depends on how many knives they saw laying around his house.
Amazing.This would be good for fighting crimes, I ve always favored some manner of public pain infliction as shaming the thievin guys for what they did.But these guys who lost their pipes…it must suck to be them.
This might be a great deterrent to intitial offenders, yes, but what about repeat offenders, who account for the majority of crimes committed? Would we have to reattach their penises and cut them off again?
LOL @ DeadCow! Perhaps if they cut off the penis for the first crime then a testicle for each subsequent crime?? I assume the guy threw the penises in the canal in the hope of ‘concealing the evidence’? He may not have kept them at all, he may have walked straight down to the canal and threw them in. Personally, I think justice in the West is generally too soft – I agree that pain is the best deterrent not the ‘there, there we’ll help you understand where you went wrong’ softly, softly approach.
ugh! this is so gross on the positive side I guess this is stopping criminals from reproducing but someone definately needs to sterilize and lock up in an insane asylum this old Thai guy-you have to think how long had he been thinking about doing that to those two kids too I agree with you it’s not the first thing to hit anyone sane’s mind..creepy
I live in Thailand, and it is been stated by police officers that the man who cut off these boys penises would share a similar fate in prison when the cops got to him.

What ever happened to caning? Geese!! Cutting off a penis is way too harsh. These kids should have had the crap beat out of them in public. That’s what they do in Singapore right? And stoning in Afghanistan? Hell, the guy even had evidence from the bank teller machine. This guy lost it and deserves to be punished. Hell, they should cut off his penis and give it to the boys for a souvenir… lol
