Dildo Alert
“Securitas, the company responsible for airport security at Flesland Airport, took no unnecessary chances when a suitcase started to vibrate. The security personnel had of course no way of knowing that the suitcase contained nothing more than a dildo that had accidentally turned itself on. As the owner of the sex toy shop ‘Voksne Leker’ (Adult toys) at Straume, Katrine Solberg, 29, has been traveling across the entire country with her rather delicate products in her suitcase. However, when she was traveling to the Oslo area for a home party a week and a half ago, one of the dildos turned itself on and created somewhat of a mess, reported the local paper Bergensavisen… At Gardermoen Oslo Airport, Solberg was informed that because of an odd vibration her suitcase was not sent on the plane. After the 29-year-old had explained the content of the suitcase, Securitas inspected it. The suitcase was sent on the next plane. ‘I’ll take out the batteries next time before I travel,’ Solberg said.” —Nettavisen (Norway)

This is not the first time and it probably won’t be the last that a sex toy has triggered a terror alert. It makes you wonder how long it will be before airlines decide to ban dildos from carry-on luggage. In fact, you can’t help but suspect that some airline czar, in a zealous effort to ground sex toys, will get the bright idea to hook up with the strange movement here in America to ban sex toys altogether. (If you’re unaware of such a movement, you must not live in Alabama, Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Indiana, or Virginia, all of which outlaw the sale of sex toys.)
You can see it now. Rather than argue that sex toys are depraved, since they divert genitalia from their proper job of reproduction, conservatives will argue that — at minimum — they disrupt society by triggering false terror alerts and — at worst — they might themselves serve as terror devices. In Russia we’re now seeing female Chechen terrorists blowing themselves up on airplanes. How long can it be before one of these women smuggles an explosive device onto an airliner by disguising it as a sex toy?
Indiana has not outlawed sex toys. They are pretty common really. Just wanted to clear it up.
