Brits Ok Bestiality Documentary
“A Channel 4 documentary about bestiality, which received 75 complaints from viewers, has been cleared by television watchdogs. Animal Passions, broadcast last month, featured a man who married a horse and a woman who had sex with her pet dog. But the regulator Ofcom has ruled that it was a serious documentary which did not breach taste and decency guidelines… Ofcom said: ‘There was nothing in the programme that was visually explicit concerning human/animal sexual contact… This was a serious documentary exploring a rare minority sexual orientation. Although the programme gave an opportunity for zoophiles to express their opinions, the effect was neither to sensationalise nor normalise their behaviour…’ Viewers had been concerned the film normalised bestiality and could prompt people to emulate the sexual practices explored in it. Of the 75 viewers who complained to Ofcom, around half had not watched the programme but objected to the subject being aired on television.” —Daily Telegraph (UK)
It’s hard to comment on a television program that you haven’t seen. But so far as can be made out from the reviews, the really interesting thing about this documentary is the fact that it was filmed in the United States but broadcast in Britain. Does that not somehow define an essential contrast between the two countries? Granted, you have to be cautious about making generalizations, and yet it’s tempting to see some truth in the disparity between what we Americans do and those Brits only watch. America is the land of the free — bestiality is actually legal (or would it be more precise to say not illegal?) in about half of the fifty states — and yet people get into a dither if something overtly sexual is broadcast on tv. (Hence the uproar when Janet Jackson flipped her ugly old tit out of her costume during the halftime show at the Superbowl. If anybody was offended, it should have been by the sagginess of her tit, not by the very fact that her breast was exposed.)
Conversely, over there in Europe, there is a more liberal attitude toward these things. The French relish a little bit of sauce in their media. And the British? Well, to a foreigner it looks as though they have that stiff-upper-lip attitude. “There’s a bestiality programme on the telly, dear. Should be a good spot o’ fun. Shall we watch? Then we can have tea and a snog.” Or then again, maybe they watch not because they’re liberal about sexuality, but rather because the show reconfirms their old-world prejudices. “There’s a bestiality programme on the telly, dear. Filmed in America, it says…. Ghastly what those Yanks do over there, isn’t it? Just ghastly.”
I saw this programmme and switched off half way through. Because I didnt like the subject matter.
But it was good to be aware of the issue.
If some of the control freaks and assorted saddos who bleat about TV content they do not like actually paused for two seconds to look away from the screen, they just might see a switch marked on/off.
I enjoyed the programme. Especially the bit where the woman described losing her virginity to her dog.
And the story about the guy who married his donkey really tugged at the heart strings. Especially when he went blind and died from hep c.
Revealing too, that while they had filmed a Jerry Springer show about him, it was never broadcast as it was deemed ‘not to meet the high standards of taste and decency’ required by the show.
However, when the man whose future wife had been done by a horse, admitted that he was tempted to go in for ’sloppy seconds’, I felt that the programme was leaning too far towards exploitation and sensationalism.
Otherwise a fine documentary about a fascinating subject.
People need to do alot of reading before they open their mouths on this subject !! Read the studies percentages that they have come up with on the amount of people in the world that ommitted having sex with animals ? The amount and reading will teach you and suprise you. I know, but am not telling you, go and read……
I am,, once of those poeple, that has sex with animals. I also know, in most of the people, who appeared in the documentary, personally and their mates. [note: Hossie married his mini mare, Pixle, although, Hossie died, sometime ago, she, is still very much alive.] I also have a copy, of the documentary, saved to CD, that I show to a few other people, when they come here to visit, who never knew it existed-that show.
And,, yes,, of course, one needs to actually-with an open mind-view that doc., before, one should comment about it.
@Dog Lover,
“the amount of people in the world that ommitted having sex with animals ?”
Well, I have to admit to being one myself. It’s certainly the case that many women in the west – especially very fat ones – are increasingly turning to canine love for fulfillment.
@Cow_Poke,
I’m glad to hear that Pixel is OK, in spite of the circumstances of her sad loss. I think it did come over that Horssie really loved her, and that their relationship was not merely physical. I aslo felt sad that they were unable to find a church that would fully bless their union before he passed on…
Surely in this day and age where some supposedly Christian churches condone intersexual couplings, and even in some cases preside over marriages between pets (California) – with the full inheritance and alimony rights that are implied – surely it is time to recognise that love, whether with animal, vegetable or mineral is worthy of God’s Grace.
I hope that after a suitable period of mourning Pixel will be able to move on to ‘pastures new’ and will find another mate. She certainly should have no difficulty.
“women in the west – especially very fat ones – are increasingly turning to canine love for fulfillment”
Hunh? You think obese women are more likely than thin women to have sex with dogs? What kind of weird generalization is that? You know obese women who prefer “canine love?”
Curious,
From my viewing of this documentary and other depictions of caninophilia my experience is that curvaceous women are more likely to be partnered with dogs.
It may be – as you seem to imply – that this is not the case however, and that slim women are equally interested in ‘puppy love’.
Or maybe dogs just like them big ?
More research is evidently required…
Were can buy i copy of this documentry??? i missed it but want to no more about it.
Hope anyone can help
Thanks

I thought it was funny how all of the animal passionistas were totally repulsive to look at and most were pretty fat. No doubt this is the real reason for them fancying animals. For example a pony can’t laugh at a big fat man and call him a perv and tell him he’s got a small d**k.
Yes, it was funny how it was mostly pretty rank fat women who were into dogs. The poor, poor dogs.
It was a really good documentary. It showed that us zoophiles are not just in it for the sex and showed us in a much brighter light than most people see us in. and for those who complained without watching it, get a life! and stop complaining about everything!
ps – Cow_Poke and others, im glad im not the only zoo whos found this site!

I know some ’slim attractive’ women who are zoophiles. It really just depends on the person, maybe people focus on fat women to try to degrade the subject to the avrage person?

I am baybeau, I am glad to join Cow_poke and other zoos that have commented. I am 52 and have been a zoosexual all my life. I did see the Ch 4 documentary, and the Springer episode on tape. I was very moved about the deep love that Hossie felt, in a very real way. I too fell in love with my mare, and we were together for 10 years…. Yes we were intimate, but it was a full relationship, and I loved her emotionally and physically. I have never felt the same for any human. She has been gone now for 5 years. I still feel a deep loss; I am still in love with her. We zoos come from all walks of life.
Those shows only showed a couple of us. We are not all the same. We are not all fat, or stupid, or cant get a date any other way. We prefer to be who we are. People certainly have a misconception of us. We are normal people with a different sexual orientation. I took part of the Andrea Beetz study a few years ago, and I urge people to read it. There have been several studies about us in the recent years, and new information is out there. I wish we could all come out and be heard and understood. Documentaries like these are the first step. Sometimes I feel we are going backwards with all the sexual witch-hunts going on now, but hopefully that will temper out.
Our biggest fear now is the negative aspect of the fallout from cases like the latest one with the stallion and the man dying in Seattle. The knee-Jerk reaction to hurry up and create more bad laws to punish us, drive us further underground, makes me sick, and fearful of just being myself. I have never forced sex on any animal, and intimacy was done with love and consideration to my partner, just like a human-to-human relationship. That is certainly not the case of normal breeding situations with the animals that is practiced on farms and ranches all the time and accepted. It is short of forced rape for sure. I hope that people can read these things with an open mind and learn to distinguish from animal abuse and a caring love filled relationship that zoosexuals have with their mates. We need to ask the question why is accepted in our society to kill an animal, cut it up, and sell its parts to the public for food. But if you make that same animal feel good sexually, done with consideration and tenderness, then you are guilty of animal abuse…I hope for the day that things will change in a positive way towards
Hello I’m Zoophile exclusive as well, I have also been married but my other half didn’t know off my hidden side. I like the fact that documentary showed that there are real people out there that just don’t use animals for sexual gratification, they actually care and love these animals in sickness and in health that’s a true Zoo. It’s a big world out there and you are going to get the same thing happen in a “beastie / zoo world†as you do in a human, human environment, that is you are going to have rapists abusers sadists etc etc.
There has been times that we have been put in the same circle as (KP sickos) you can have this in any civilization upper and lower class, country to country. We are always going to be ladled as not normal in the upper human society. It took a long time for the gay community to get out of the gutter and be recognized, and its going to take a lot longer for us genuine true Zoo’s to be heard and excepted as well, “if everâ€. It’s going to be hard to convince the majority that we are not abusers of animals and that wee truly and dearly love them. The world is changing, sometimes not for the good, but sometimes for the better. Its good to see that we are getting some recognition in the upper field of society and not for abuse as most like to think of us. I’m Zoo and proud of it, I love and care for my lovers emotionally and physically spiritually and they love me to no end..
