Putting the Tit in Titanium
“An Argentinean doctor who offers titanium implants for women seeking larger breasts says his clients never need to wear brassieres after his surgery. Dr. Ziya Saylan, who works in Dusseldorf, Germany, inserts discs of titanium mesh during a 90-minute operation under local anesthetic, the Sun reported Monday. The surgical procedure costs about $8,500. The implants are attached to the breast and rib muscles and provide permanent support, he said. ‘A woman will never ever have to wear a bra again,’ Saylan said. ‘The titanium is so strong it’ll never sag.’ Critics, however, complain the titanium mesh might hinder breast self-exams or lead to other problems. ‘Implants can lead to infection,’ says physician Carol Cooper. ‘And why have surgery you don’t need?’” — Washington Times (US)

Sometimes there are artists who exert a powerful influence on society without thereby becoming famous or well-known. Such was the case of sci-fi illustrator Earle Bergey. He invented something we have all come to know and love: the brass bra. You’ve seen it adorning the covers of those pulp sci-fi mags from the “repressed” fifties. You’ve seen the buxom babes with their metallic robo-tits ensconced in brass body armor that “lifts and separates.”
But would Earle Bergey have ever imagined that the brass would migrate from the bra to the breast? Dr. Ziya Saylan has invented breast implants that are essentially titanium mesh — they give the uplift of the brass bra, but they do it from inside the breast. There are some pictures of the implants on Dr. Saylan’s web site. They show the mesh inside the mammary, and also how the boobs look after the implants are in place. It doesn’t seem like an especially impressive transformation, given the complications and side-effects of implants.
Dr. Ziya Saylan is not an Argentinian, he is Turkish. I don’t know, why they give everywhere false information but I would like to report your mistake.
Attention Ladies: if you get this titanium implant the airport metal detectors will probably go off everytime. You will have to submit to a humiliating search of your chest area everytime. Possibly be detained because they can’t determine the source of the metal. So think twice before opting for this titanium implant.
I could be wrong, but dont think so…pretty sure that airport metal detectors are only set to pick up ferric metals, though they would show pretty clearly on the xray…
