This is one of those cases that shows the fine line between law and morality. Undoubtedly it was imprudent — even immoral, if you want to call it that — for someone who is supposed to be providing some kind of care to dangle his penis before one of his patients. What if he’d given the poor old lady a coronary? And yet, while the act of exposure certainly demonstrated a lack of good judgement, the Italian court rightly recognized that it was hardly a crime. Nobody was raped. Nobody was injured. A little old lady got a shock — well, little old ladies being little old ladies, they are probably shocked by a lot of things about modern life. It makes you wonder if the “serenity” of old age isn’t really a kind of shell shock.

So the perp should get a slap on the hand, to acknowledge the fact that he shouldn’t go around scaring his patients with his pierced pecker. And the granny? Either she should get a sense of humor so she can laugh off such a laughable incident — or she should fight back. The next time a guy whips out his penis in front of her, she should take out her dentures — because that’s obscene to see.
