Abuse of Detainees

A few people have sent emails to ask why PervScan hasn’t yet featured the story about American soldiers abusing Iraqi POWs. The answer is pretty simple. When captors abuse prisoners during wartime, it’s not perverse. It’s normal — which is not to condone such abuse, but to recognize that it’s as fundamental a part of war as bloodshed. Rape is the continuation of war by other means.

While American soldiers should certainly be held to high standards of conduct, it’s hard not to think that — with a relatively small number of exceptions — the list of abuses is no worse than a frat boy would have to undergo during a hazing initiation. Check out the official report. One independent contractor gave this testimony:

The soldiers made the detainees “do strange exercises by sliding on their stomach, jump up and down, throw water on them and made them some wet, called them all kinds of names such as ‘gays’ do they like to make love to guys, then they handcuffed their hands together and their legs with shackles and started to stack them on top of each other by insuring that the bottom guys penis will touch the guy on tops butt.”

Frat-boy stuff or what? In fact, a lot of the abuse involves detainees forced to go without clothing — or in some cases, male detainees forced to wear women’s underwear. Naturally soldiers shouldn’t be doing this just for sport, but how do we know exactly what the reasons for it are? In one case, soldiers took a detainee accused of raping an underage fellow detainee, wrote “I am a Rapest” [sic] on his leg, and photographed him naked. This may not be the way you’d deal with such an event here in the homeland, but is the Scarlet Letter treatment so entirely out of place in a war camp? It’s not like they pulled out his fingernails with burning pliers.

Humiliation has legitimate uses in wartime — maintenance of order, exertion of psychological pressure, and so on. Certainly the purported incident in which a detainee was sodomized with a chemical light is an example of going too far. But pouring cold water on naked detainees? Threatening them with attack dogs and guns? Beating on them a little? It doesn’t seem that far out of line, especially when you consider two things: first, most detainees are treated decently; second, Americans typically treat their POWs much better than most countries treat them. Scaring and intimidating detainees is nothing compared to the systematic torture that Saddam Hussein inflicted on his own people.

All that being said, it’s important that American soldiers be subject to oversight and held to high standards. But to portray them as demons? To compare them to the Nazi brutes who performed stomach-turning experiments on women and children? That’s just — unpatriotic.

It’s all too easy to judge the soldiers behaviour – grinning, as people do for cameras, at piles of naked bodies.

But there out there man, and things get tough.

Who’s been comparing them to nazis?!

You may have a point, but if you understand muslim culture and the importance of shame in controlling behavior, and you consider the homosexual focus of the humiliations at the prison, it’s not hard to see the severe impact it would have on captured Iraqi’s. Probably a great tactic for gaining confessions. Then you have to ask, would high school educated army reserve mechanics instinctively come up with elaborate sexual humiliations instead of say, just beating them? Or would psyops be more likely to come up with such ideas? Anyway, just because we as american frat boys have no problem sticking our dicks in the asses of other men (okay, maybe just some of us americans), doesn’t mean that every culture shares that opinion. And in case you missed the news report, at least 3 prisoner deaths have been ruled “homocide.” Anyway, this is my first visit to pervscan, looks like an interesting resource, thanks for putting it online.

Whats wrong with comparing those filthy soldiers to Nazi’s? It is infact the right name for those soldiers. When Iraqi people die for no reason American’s always have point to someone els or say “It’s not our fault.” Most Americans say Saddam ruled Iraq brutally, but look at Iraq today its like a dead zone. It is almost like animals trying to kill each others. I’m not saying Saddam is a good person, but when he ruled the country at least Iraq was a normal country it wasn’t bombed or country haven’t been destroyed. We all know why Americans wanted to attack Iraq, but most stuppidest thing is that they have this UN organization that you have to get permission before you try to destroy a country but that doesn’t apply to United States. Americans can do anything they want, they can kill people, rape women, invade another country without no reason. All this behind there is the White man standing. Why did god had to create Adam & Eve to be white or is it they are just white because white man sed so…..just like today in Iraq Americans (white men) destroying the country, because they just want oil… it is not just that but rapping prissoners and all that activity white man consider its our way. Americans made this huge fact about Afganistani women not being able to wear what they want, after just taking over the country have anyone witnness women from Afganistan wanting to strip down like American hookers (that goes for all American women). Why can’t Americans just live in their own country? Just because United States is modified or i should say country that so out of its humanity people make porn by which American people eatting their own waste and putting on each others. So is this what you call freedom? is this what you call United States we stand or we are the patriots? Since first day an African came to this country that person has been a slave ’till today and will be a slave to white man forever. Of course today Africans not treated as slaves, but they just took that slave word out and created this thugs, cruks, which they have become because in white man’s world an African is always a slave a middle easter person is always a terrorist a asian is always sissy’s. I hope at least next time when white man’s god create a new world he won’t include the frat boys.
