Superintendent Sharlene Otto, a DNA specialist, told the High Court’s Judge Cecil Somyalo on Friday there existed a discrepancy in the time of the death of the victim and the time semen was deposited into the body… According to Otto’s testimony, the body had been in the mortuary for four days before semen samples were taken from the vagina to determine whether the woman had been raped, and by whom. ‘There was an exceptionally large amount of semen in the vagina, and it was determined it was only between 12 hours and 72 hours old.’ She said the conclusion could be drawn that the semen was deposited inside the body after the victim’s death, while the body remained in the same position as when the post-mortem was done.” — News24.com (South Africa)

The victim in this case was murdered, and when the semen was discovered in her body, at first everybody naturally thought it was the murderer. When they ran a check, though, guess what happened? It wasn’t his semen. So they determined the age of the semen, and anybody can do the math with that data. Body in morgue for four days minus semen that’s less than three days old… It’s elementary, dear Watson. Somebody screwed that cadaver once it was already in the morgue.

Now everybody in Karoo is shocked, and yet students of perversion know that necrophiles are most commonly those people who have daily contact with the dead — morgue attendants, coroners, embalmers. What’s the big surprise?

The full story is a little unclear as you read it, and it seemed at first sight to be saying that the body had been violated at some point between the time the murderer abandoned the body and the time it was discovered by police. Now that would have been much more shocking — imagine a guy wandering along the road in Karoo, finding a murdered woman, experiencing a rush of lust. “Hey, now get a gander at that fine-looking stab victim. Maybe I’ll just help myself to a bit of that there putrid poontang…”

Hell, sick opportunists often raid the pockets of dead bodies they find along the road. If they can rob the dead, sometimes they must rape them too.
