Reverend Sexually Assaulted Woman He Met In Christian Chat Room
“The founder of a small city church sexually assaulted a Pennsylvania woman he met online in a Christian chat room, authorities said. The Rev. Kevin Brown, 51, was arrested early Monday at the Lighthouse Mission — where he also lives — after the 49-year-old woman’s daughter called Long Branch police and said her mother told her she had just been attacked, Monmouth County Prosecutor John Kaye said. Brown drove to Pennsylvania on Sunday night and met the unidentified woman in a shopping center, then returned with her to the church, where they had some drinks. The woman eventually passed out but woke up a few hours later and found Brown performing a sexual act on her, Kaye said. When police arrived, they found a video camera and lights set up near the bed ‘appropriate for making a film,’ Kaye said.” — Local6.com (US)

Lordy! Somehow there is nothing that satisfies our sense of poetic justice like seeing a man of the cloth succumb to the temptations of flesh and blood.
In that regard, this is a particularly fine example of feel-good story. You can indulge in a little smirk without feeling that dirty shame that comes when the victim, as is usually the case with clergy, is only eleven years old.
You can permit yourself a little bemused satisfaction without feeling as though you’re unjustly blaming the victim — since, after all, what kind of woman meets up with a stranger, cleric though he be, and then gets so piss-drunk with him that she passes out in a church?
And finally, your sense of irony need not be undermined by any sympathy for the raunchy reverend himself. It’s not like he was a man boiling with repressed desires who then met the woman of his dreams and broke his spiritual vows in a burst of physical passion. No, this was a guy who trolled the internet for women to do star turns in his homemade porn movies. (Note that he had not just a video camera but lights — surely the mark of a man serious about his movies.) This was a cleric who concealed a little rapist and pornographer beneath his frock — and since you tend to suspect this of holy men anyway, since you tend to believe that they harbor all kinds of perverted urges beneath their saintly exteriors, isn’t it enormously satisfying to see your suspicions reconfirmed? To see the pervert beneath the frock exposed?
Superstition?
There must be a better department.
Fortunately God forgives this kind of behavior.
This is a fine example of how corrupted organised religion is.
This IS truly delicious. Why isn’t this on CNN?
More Protestant perverts should make national headlines. It would do a country that’s flirting with theocracy a great deal of good to be a little more suspicious of the righteous. The focus has been on the Catholics for too long, and Protestant America has always been suspicious of them anyway. They’re easy to demonize.
People have forgotten the evangelical sex scandals of the 80s. Some perspective with regards to the remarkable consistency of human nature is a healthy thing.
This matter has recently been posted on another forum I frequent regarding dogs. This man has attacked, lied about and bashed folks who have been breeding dogs for decades. He has retaliated against many by using his blog site to do so. He now has a virus attached to his blog site where he attacks others. A very sick man in my opinion. The United States of America IMPO certainly hands out the title of “pastor” or “reverend” much too leniently.
Please be careful of this man.
