Officers who searched civil servant Colin Duncan’s home discovered 1500 indecent images on his home computer. However, the 35-year-old dad-of-one told police he was not interested in child pornography but confessed: ‘I’ve got a fetish for white socks…’ Police searched the accused’s house and recovered a number of images from his home computer and on computer disks. The examination of his computer also revealed that searches on the internet had been carried out by the accused including search terms such as ‘Schoolgirls in uniform’ and ‘Lolita schoolgirls.’ During a police interview, he told officers that the searching of the internet was for the purpose of looking for girls and women wearing white socks. Chalk up another one for the lame excuse department. Here you have a guy googling “Lolita schoolgirls” and he has the gumption to assert that he’s not interested in kiddie porn? There are a lot of other ways a man could satisfy a fetish for white socks without downloading child pornography. He could try searching the internet using more, uh, exact terminology such as “girls white socks.” He could clip sneaker advertisements from magazines. He could become a shoe salesman.

I can’t grasp how a grown man, a FATHER even, could have so many media files of children on his computer.. You’ve made a huge leap from ‘1500 indecent images’ to ‘media files of children’. For all we know all of the pictures were of adults.

I made the leap based on the wording of the article.. not on concrete evidence of what was on the pictures.. BUT, why else would the police arrest the man?? It’s not illegal to have porn of adults.. AHEM!!

It’s not uncommon for someone with a specific fetish such as a “sock fetish” to want to collect the article. Just so happens that with the help of the internet its extremly easy to have such a collection for your perverted needs. As a sock webmistress, I can validate that many men will go to great lengths to acquire sock fetish material. I have also found that many men who are into the socks fetish scene are often also into younger women, typically because socks are associated predominanlty with youth (ie: schoolgirls). Crossing the line from “younger” women to “children” however is another thing altogether.
