To play the Devil’s Advocate for a moment, you have to wonder if the sexual abuse of animals is really all that worse than any other kind of animal abuse. Aside from the inherent repugnance — to some people — of bestiality, does it hurt an animal worse to get buggered than to get butchered? Obviously it’s unfair to compare abuse with slaughter, and yet often the way animals are bred and raised for slaughter is not so pleasant. Thanksgiving turkeys are bred to have such large breasts — for all that tasty white meat — that they can’t even walk. So is that a lesser form of abuse than sodomy? Is it ok if we eat them but not if we fuck them?
To be clear, PervScan is not endorsing any form of animal abuse. It’s just that you can’t help but be struck by the hysteria that surrounds one type of abuse and not the other. People used to have the attitude that animals were put here on earth for mankind to make use of, and if bestiality was proscribed it was not because it was cruel but because it was sexual. But if you take that attitude, and if you object to bestiality not because it’s sexual but because it’s cruel, then shouldn’t you object equally to every sort of animal cruelty?
