Sex Perv Gives Victim Cellphone Number

“A 13-year-old girl got the cellphone number of a man who allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted her and then used it to help in the suspect’s capture… Police said the girl accepted a ride in a minivan while walking to school Wednesday morning. After driving her to a secluded area, the driver fondled her and asked her to perform a sex act, but she refused. The girl persuaded him to let her go and promised to call him later. He provided a name and a cellphone number before dropping her off… The girl contacted police, and while officers listened in she called the number and arranged a meeting with the man later Wednesday. When Martinez arrived, police said, he was arrested.” — Winnipeg Sun (Canada)

Dumb meets dumberer. Sunspots must have interfered with the thirteen-year-old’s synapses when she accepted a ride from a strange man. Don’t parents warn their daughters about this kind of thing? But if she put herself into a dumb position, at least she redeemed herself by talking her way out of it.

The perp, on the other hand, should win an award for criminal idiocy. How stupid or gullible or arrogant do you have to be to give your contact info to a girl you’ve just abducted? You think you’re such a god to the female sex that there’s no chance she’ll go straight to the police, as did this girl?

News flash for would-be kidnappers and rapists! Pubescent girls want absolutely nothing to do with guys so repugnant to the rest of womandom that they have to kidnap schoolgirls. Teenyboppers like Justin Timberlake, not you. So if you manage to get a girl in your car and she puts the old sweet talk on you — “Just lemme go and I promise I’ll call you after school, ‘k?” — she’s lying — lying, do you hear? — lying.

In a kind of weird twist to that story all cellular companies now ( with the exception of V*r*z*n ) are trying to list your cell phone number when anyone calls 411 to get your home number. Unfortunately, this is not good for all consumer cellular subscribers just so the cellular companies can make more $$$$. 2 Senators are introducing a bill to allow customers to opt-in first. Thank You, Senators! One of them is Sen. Markey.
