Training Hookers to Service Disabled Johns
“Health workers in Townsville have offered to educate sex workers about how to have sex with disabled people… the training could include sex with disabled people, dispelling myths about disabled sexuality, communication and working with carers… ‘Many of these prospective clients need reassuring that they are not a lesser person because of their disability and their sexual desires can be satisfied by someone who accepts their disability and has the knowledge to help them,’ Ms Kneipp said. She said many disabled men missed being close to someone, having body contact and being stroked or cuddled, while others still were able to have sex. She had heard of a paraplegic man who starved himself several times so he could be admitted to hospital where he would be touched and receive bed baths. Ms Kneipp said two local sex workers had expressed an interest in taking disabled clients.” — Queensland Sunday Mail (Australia)
Here’s a toss-up for you. When you think about disabled men suffering in their broken bodies, it is really touching to contemplate these women learning how to fulfill the poor men’s fundamental need for intimacy. After all, a “plege” shouldn’t have to get himself committed to the hospital just to feel the warm hands of a woman on his body. And yet, on the other hand, if you think that prostitution — even when it’s legalized — only serves to objectify and degrade women, then there’s nothing touching about this story at all. It’s only a further humiliation: why should women have to be taught to give themselves to men they probably find even more repugnant than the average john?
In a way, it makes you wonder why prostitution should be considered a solution to the problem of disabled lonesomeness. Aren’t there disabled women who long for physical intimacy too? Hasn’t anyone developed a service to connect paraplegic men and women? If both parties are paralyzed, you could always lay them out beside each other, or perhaps even one on top of the other, and the two bodies could lie there together in warm, motionless proximity. Maybe they could even blink at each other, wink out little love letters in Morse code.

Learning to give sensual pleasure is not necessarily “giving themselves” — & prostitution is not a solution to disabled lonesomeness, but it might be one way to mitigate that lonesomeness.
A little googling shows resources for contacts, eg

Besides I bet I’m not the only “abled” one to get a charity fuck now and then.
and then there’s porn for the blind

i think you are thinking quadraplegic here. paraplegic is just the loss of use of the legs, where quadraplegic is the loss of movement from the neck down. paraplegics can move their upper body, so they can touch and hold and generally do a lot more than people give them credit for (or the chance to try for themselves).
Wow, reading this article hurts somewhere deep down.
If people are really willing to go as far as
claiming that sex with disabled people is a kind
of degradation, suddenly suicide becomes a much more
valuableable option. No matter what
comes after this, it can’t be any more inhuman or
frusrating.
Thanks for making my day.
I’ve been a paraplegic for 10 years and haven’t had sex in that time. I crave being close to a woman but don’t let myself get close to anyone because of how I feel about my body now. And I’m better off than most, I work full-time, can get erections, look fine, but inside I don’t have confidence. If prostitution wasn’t looked so down upon, I’d consider hiring one to see if being with someone will make me feel better about myself so I could approach other females.
I know this sounds dumb to say, but prostitutes can be nice people too. Don’t go to a streetwalker, since most of them are crackheads. But why don’t you call an escort service? Use a payphone if you’re concerned about your privacy. Call them up and explain your situation. That way the girl you see will probably be more comfortable when you see her. You might be surprised. Some girls know quite a bit about physical therapy — not to mention other things.
When visiting a prostitute, you just have to remember two things. One: WEAR A CONDOM. Two: Your mileage may vary — meaning, some girls are like the worst capitalist entrepreneurs and will just try to milk the most money out of you that they can get. Other girls are very nice — and hopefully, if you can find a nice girl, she will definitely help you to feel better about yourself.
Oh yeah, and just one last piece of advice. Remember this. Once you start visiting prostitutes, it can be very hard to stop. It can become a very expensive habit, just like a drug. So exercise some restraint, keep your head, enjoy it but don’t let it become an addiction.
Good luck, bro!
I became disabled after hitting a tree going 90/mph, back in Dec. of ‘98.I’m told I am a good looking man. However, geting involved in situations where sexual contact is likely is rare ,hasn’t happened so far.I am young, supposedly, nothing like being 30 going on 72, huh? See, I think a majority of the problem is my location, see I’m stuck in Richmond,MA. So I would love it if you could get back to me with any suggestions. THANK-YOU, Hoyt Baxter
I am a t5 paraplegic who is currently being divorced after a 10 year loveless marrage during which sex was pretty much a chore. At 33 years of age I thought I would struggle to find someone who would be interested in spending any time with a paraplegic guy. However afer a passionate night spent with my mates 20 year sister I now now enjoy a very fulfilling and varied sex life and cant think of a time when it was any better and that includes before I hit the car doing 70mph. There is a lot to be said for continuing to be sexually active after a life changing accident and just because you are in a wheelchair doesnt mean you are are incapable of any sort of intimate thoughts or actions. My new girl friend does do a hell of moaning about our sex life but the only complaints I recieve are from the neighbours regarding the noise. She has recommended we make our own brand of paraporn and that there would be a market for this, if any one is interested let us know! :-)
PaulS– make the tapes!

I am a former prostitute who enjoyed a longterm “girlfriend experience” relationship with an elderly, disabled man. He was absolutely lovely, charming, intelligent, darling and very pleasant to have sex with! Even now I keep in touch with him although I am now happily married and away from my old ways. Disabled lovers can be just as great as non-disabled lovers…it can be a beautiful thing!
I HAVE RECENTLY MET A MAN WHO IS PARAPLEGIC…HE IS INCREDIBLE…WE HAVENT HAD SEX YET HOWEVER I AM SURE IT WILL BE MY PLEASURE AS HE HAS ALREADY STIMULATED MY HEAD AND HEART…IF ANYONE HAS ANY TIPS ON THIS MATTER PLEASE GIVE ME A HEADS UP SO THAT I WILL BE AND MAKE HIM MOST COMFORTABLE AS HE HASNT HAD SEXUAL RELATIONS SINCE HIS ACCIDENT 3 YEARS AGO.
