A boost to millions of elderly? What about the rest of us? Who can’t imagine the personal benefits of an instant orgasm pill? If scientists really manage to invent such a wonder drug, sex itself could be in danger of extinction. After all, it’s so much work to seduce someone — it’s so much effort to maintain a serious relationship — and it’s so expensive to patronize prostitutes — that the convenience of an instant orgasm pill would surely threaten tricks, one-night stands, marriage, and perhaps even romance itself. Who needs all the hassle when you can get as good from a capsule or pill?
Once scientists get the chemistry right, maybe they’ll even be able to combine the instant orgasm pill with hallucinogens. If you’re into necrophilia or pedophilia, say, the hallucinogens could cause you to have elaborate — and safe, because unreal — sexual encounters with the objects of your deviant desire, and at the end the old orgasm pill could kick in and finish off the fantasy in the expected way. Maybe this would even result in the creation of new perversions — the hallucinogens could cause you to dream of dragons or chimeras or other fantastic creatures. Clomipramine (Anafranil), an anti-depressant, has the unusual side effect of causing spontaneous orgasm in approximately 5% of users. Obviously the drug needs to be ‘tweaked’ a little – they need to get that percentage up higher! The creators are sitting on a gold mine!
