It is without a doubt that this story portends a future trend. As commercial kiddie porn permeates the internet, what happens when kids — who are always strapped for cash — begin to realize that they can make some easy bucks with their digital cameras and video-editing software? What rash teen, habituated by pop culture to ever-increasing amounts of nudity and open sexual behavior, won’t consider selling some pictures of himself so that he can afford whatever the latest neat new thing is? In short, what happens when kids cease to be the exploited in order to exploit themselves? After all, if they play doctor anyway, why not do it on film and make a little money from it?
Certain types of liberal thinkers interpret this kind of move as self-empowerment. When a woman makes porn, it’s seizing control of her image. When a black owns a business, it’s seizing control of the means of production. Well, what happens when children seize control of the means of production and start selling nude images of themselves? Is it still self-empowerment? It seems grotesque to suggest as much — and yet, if it’s not empowering for a thirteen-year-old to make porn of herself, why is it empowering for a twenty-year-old? Is it still kiddie porn if it’s made by the kiddies themselves? Or is it smart business?
It’s not a difficult moral dilemma, at least from the adult vantage point, since kiddie porn is almost universally condemned. It is, however, a practical dilemma, meaning it would be hard to prevent teens from “porning” (as opposed to prostituting) themselves if that’s what they want to do. After all, what recourse would lawmakers have? Kids need a license to drive a car — can you require the same for a kid to use a camera or a computer?

Okay, this is how I see it… Girls that age will be sexual. I am 22 and I have a 16 year old girlfriend.
