Such a thing is not true; as a Korean immigrant (1997), and someone who goes back annually, I am still in touch with much of the trends in Korea.
First off, this “traditional superstition” is not true; as a matter of fact women during the Goryeo and Shilla eras removed all body hair.
In Japan this superstition of fertility with pubic hair remains very high, however.
How many of you can say that you’ve watched Korean pornography from Korea?? I doubt very many. It’s almost identical to Western pornography, and hairlessness as well as “enlarged areas” are admired. Korea in general is very westernized in many areas, especially where the media is involved.
Japanese pornography, and Japan in general, is very different, as well as much more accessible to Americans. If you find a Japanese pornographic video and watch it, you will notice that the women are VERY hairy. The Japanese see it as a turn on in greater consensus.

In my opinion, this article is very mistaken, and quite obviously written from someone with very little knowledge of contemporary and traditional Korea.
