What Makes PervScan Unique?

Different types of “sex blogs” are proliferating across the net, offering a wide spectrum of views on sexuality. There are news blogs, porn blogs, who-I-slept-with blogs, and so on. (PervScan has been considering reviewing other blogs. This falls slightly outside its mandate, but would it be interesting or appealing to you as a reader? Leave a comment if so.) Amid all these blogs, then, what makes PervScan unique?

First, PervScan is currently the only blog to focus particularly on perverse behavior. Its method is encyclopedic, kind of a living psychopathia sexualis, an attempt to gather and group news stories according to perversion: voyeurism, necrophilia, etc. Accordingly, PervScan omits some headline stories — like the recent one in which Britney Spears admitted to losing her virginity — but includes others that you are unlikely to find on any other blog (e.g. the story about amputee fetishists, or the story about the teenager who wanted to run over a jogger so he could have sex with her corpse, which PervScan featured a full month before it made the national news).

Second, PervScan is not a mere “link farm.” It does not offer breadth — i.e. numerous headlines per day — so much as depth, a story a day combined with PervScan’s own unique commentary. Sometimes this commentary is analytical, other times it amounts to inspired raving. Either way, the hope is that the commentary adds value and that you enjoy the sound of PervScan’s voice in your ear. (That being said, if you’d prefer just a link farm, by all means speak up. It would be easier to maintain headline links than to compose all the commentary.)
