Just because the octogenarian plaintiff possessed an intact hymen does not mean she never engaged in sexual affairs. There is no physical way to determine that, while maintaining her hymen, she might not have been the blow-job queen of China. An intact hymen proves nothing, especially since it is now possible to restore it surgically. And there are many other ways a woman can pleasure a man — or perhaps another woman. Maybe she’s a lesbian?
Even if you presume that she was a virgin in every respect, that she never offered herself to man, woman, or beast, you still have to wonder: why is that anything to be proud of? How can you pride yourself on a non-experience? You lived a long life without fucking — so what? That doesn’t mean you had any particular virtue or character, it only means that you voluntarily decided to cut yourself off from one of the most tremendous areas of experience that life offers. Not using your sexuality in some way is like amputating your leg and being proud of it. “I’m better than you because I hopped on one leg all my life.” Hah. It’s a good thing virgins don’t reproduce. Who needs more of this mentality?

i think this should be obvious: girls are often proud of ‘purity’. while it seems men have always been able to sleep around and be given high-fives for it, girls are stuck being called whores and sluts for having several partners (i’ve been called so much, and i’ve only had 7 men in my life, while many of my male-friends can claim over 20 and no one thinks the worse of them for it). put this into a culture where sex outside of marriage (again, most especially for women) is an outrage, this woman has every reason to defend herself in any way possible. also, some societies/cultures/religions view self-imposed celebacy as enlightenment or holiness (think nuns or monks). since there is no 100% way to show this old lady is completely “pure”, she just proved all she could. i feel bad for her, you’d think by the time you’re that old, no one would spread rumors as though it was still high school. obviously her apparant virginity is important to her for whatever reason, and i say good for her. you, supervert, of all people, should know some people take different paths in life. at least her path is completely harmless (no children, goats, or immediate family members were ever violated).

Being a virgin is -nothing- to be proud of. Seriously. xD Being proud of being an asexual prude? Or someone who’s so ugly that nobody would want you? When anyone past 25 says they’re a virgin, I wonder what’s wrong with them. Cuz it gotta be something.
The reason why girls are prod of being virgins is related to the days were men owned women, and their daughters had to stay virgins to be worth ’selling’ as marrige-material. Girls who are proud of being virgins are also promoting that girls should not be alowed to have sex, because their virginety is owned by a future man.
Of course, so few are aware of that nowadays, that they follow the morals of society blindly, assuming it’s a good thing to be a virgin, but I have yet to get a good answer as to what being a virgin really pays.
