It’s not entirely convincing to say that the whole world has become ass-obsessed, since it would be pretty easy to pick any other (sexual) body part, accumulate instances of the ways in which it has penetrated popular culture, and thereby conclude that we’re obsessed with that too.
That being said, if you were to agree that we’re all ass-obsessed, it doesn’t have to mean that it’s degrading to women or that it makes them pointless. The ass is plainly a universal orifice. Everybody has one. In that sense, it is the perfect symbol of democracy, globalization, and world culture.
